SCARR 08

As per usual, the Texas Rovers put on one of the best events I attend. Last year I wrote a three part blog on the entire weekend but this year I just do not have the time (this is good actually - as anyone self-employed will tell you being busy is a really, really good thing!). But I do want to thank all the guys that came to my rescue when my rig was all bent to heck and took time away from wheeling to replace the mangled trailing arms (which is a story unto itself). Moses of Mo-Fab and Ian Minenna both donated replacement trailing arms as well as their time and tools - thank you, thank you! Robert Fleming, Chris Kelley, TR Burrus from ARB, Greg ?, SteveO, Tim and Steve Woolford and of course Jon Button all turned a few wrenches to get me back on the trails and Alan of Rovers North provided the wrenches that had to be turned - thank you very much gentlemen! You made my weekend and now it is time to go after the guys that bent the trailing arms in the first place...!

Arrived in One Piece

After 11 days on the road, Alisha and I made it to Dallas in one piece. Lot's of adventures and excitment along the way but I will let Alisha's blog tell the story as she did a great job on her blog and I, well, just didn't get to it.
My only addition would be how much great of an event the Land Rover Club of Las Vegas put together! Rover Rendezvous 8 was a wonderful event with some very incredible wheeling - highly recommend it to anyone and I am already looking forward to next year!

Bunny & the Boys

Fun photoshoot! I was contacted by a small local business that required an image of a rabbit reading a book for a new software they were developing for public libraries to catalogue their stock. I contacted a friend of mine who had Harvey, a lovely and calm bunny that I thought would do a fine job as a model. To reciprocate, I offered to shoot her boys aged eight and eleven. Ended up finding all three to be some of the best models I have ever worked with - great day and some amazing photographs for my portfolio!

Land Rover World

It's official - finally! After a couple of years of putting together an article once every few months or so for Land Rover World, they finally asked if I want to be the regular North American correspondent!

Now, for many of you that do not have an unnatural love of the Land Rover, this may not sound like a big deal. However, to anyone who knows me or knows what sits in my driveway and requires me to throw large sums of money at on an all too frequent basis, this is a big deal! A bloody big deal! Enormous actually and, well, a heck of a lot of fun too!

Travelling around the continent attending Land Rover events (which there are a surprisingly large number of for those of you not in the know) and meeting Land Rover people (which are the very best of people) makes for pretty good part-time work for a freelancer like me.

Anyway, that was my brag for today...oh, and the February issue has my piece on the Solihull Society's 2007 National Rally in Montrose, Colorado and my photo is on the cover....that I guess would be considered a brag as well...!
